This package is for the new or expecting parents that want all the paid, job-protected time possible but don’t have time to worry about claims, application forms, deadlines, and hold times.

Call 1: 45-min Intro call

This will not be your typical call with HR. Get ready to laugh, relax, and maybe even cry…but like in a good way ☺️

We’ll talk through:

✔️ how your company’s parental leave program (if you have one) integrates in with disability and paid family leave
✔️ how to extend your parental leave and max out your paid and unpaid time off
✔️ how, where, and when to apply for your California benefits

✔️ your and your partner’s parental leave timeline
✔️ how to communicate your parental leave plan with your boss and HR

After our call I’ll email you a recap and any necessary action items.

Call 2: 30-min to apply for SDI

When it’s time to apply for SDI, I’ll email you to schedule a call together. We’ll screen share and apply for your State Disability Insurance benefits together. If you have a partner, we’ll also apply for Paid Family Leave for them.

Call 3: 30-min to apply for PFL

When it’s time to apply for PFL, I’ll email you to schedule a call together. We’ll screen share again and apply for your paid family leave benefits.

Call 4: 30-min SOS call

Our fourth call is saved for when you have a question and email just isn’t going to cut it. We can talk about how to push back on HR, what to do to extend your disability, how to prepare to go back to work after leave, how to create a parental leave coverage plan. It’s up to you!

I’ll put together a personalized parental leave timeline based on your employer’s parental leave policy (if they offer one) and all the state and federal benefits you qualify for. Share it with HR. I think they’ll be impressed.

  • California offers two different paid parental leave programs:

    1. State Disability Insurance (SDI)

    2. Paid Family Leave (PFL)

    To qualify for either program you need to have CASDI listed as a deduction on your paystub five to 18 months before your claim date, which is your first day of leave.

    Check your paystub. If CASDI is listes as a deduction, you qualify!

  • Legally, I’m unable to apply for you, but I can apply with you!

    When it’s time to apply for your benefits I’ll email you to set up a quick call. When we meet, we’ll screen share on Zoom and apply together.

    You won’t ever have to worry if you filled out your claims correctly!

  • Yes! You don’t need to be working to qualify for SDI and PFL. If you’ve worked in the last two years as a W2 employee in CA, paying into CASDI I can help you get paid for a minimum of 17 weeks, and likely more if you’re pregnant or recently gave birth, or if you’re a dad or non-birthing parents I can help you get at least 8 weeks of partially paid leave!

    If you haven’t worked in over two years you likely will not qualify for SDI or PFL.

  • I 100% understand. On average, my clients make $19,890 over the course of their parental leave.

    2. The Guide: Navigating Parental Leave in Ca. I recommend this for new and expecting parents in CA who are familiar with CA’s benefits, have an uncomplicated job history and do have a supportive, education HR person leading them.

    3. The CA Parental Leave Package. This is my most popular package for new and expecting parents in CA. The package offers a consulting call, the guide, a personalized parental leave timeline, and unlimited email support.

    4. The Ca OMG Package. This is the package for busy people who need someone to help keep everything on track for them and want to ensure they are getting the longest parental leave possible and the most amount of pay possible.
