Welcome to The Park

A place where women and moms enjoy equal career opportunities, are paid the same as their male counterparts, are supported as working parents, and have access to paid family leave.

Six weeks after returning from maternity leave I quit a job I loved. During the pandemic, nearly 2 million women were pushed out of the workforce, and I was one of them.

The system for working moms in the US is broken. So I started The Park to fix it—a consulting agency that helps organizations and people like you navigate parental leave so women have a fighting chance of staying in the paid workforce.

And it’s not "just" moms who benefit. New parents of all genders deserve time away from work when welcoming a new child into their home. Plus, it’s no secret that a diverse workforce (that includes moms) is good for business.

No one should get pushed out of the workforce when they become a parent. Let’s change the status quo for working moms. Welcome to The Park!

noun

The park is a place women take their children to play, get wiggles out, breath some fresh air, hopefully talk to another adult, and maybe even make a mom friend. Many moms find relief and camaraderie among the other moms at the park. The park is a safe, inclusive place.

The park is an anomaly.

It is one of the few places not designed specifically for women where women and moms are not only welcome, but also often more welcome than men. Name another. We’ll wait.

The picnic benches and swings filled with other moms and kids offer familiarity, safety, and camaraderie. The other women there are instant supporters, cheering for our kids when they go down the big slide and offering a bandaid when our kids fall off the monkey bars.

Currently, the average American workplace is a far cry from this. Women are frequently harassed, underpaid, criticized, and fired for being, well, women.

The Park is here to change that.

One day our workplaces will be as welcome and inclusive as the park.
